Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte with the label's designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy
I’m in Monaco at the The Financial Times’ Business of Luxury Summit and having a fabulous time! I’ve enjoyed meeting so many interesting people from around the world and learning their different perspectives on the luxury industry. I’ll be writing a detailed post about the conference upon my return to New York, but you can follow me on Twitter @Susan_Tabak to receive my updates until then.
I just wanted to mention the 2009 CFDA Award Winners before heading out of the Hotel de Paris for the evening:

Winners Lazaro Hernandez, left, and Jack McCollough, of Proenza Schouler
Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler won the Accessory Designer of the Year. Italo Zucchelli for Calvin Klein Collection and Scott Sternberg for Band of Outsiders tied for the Menswear Designer of the Year Award, and Kate and Laura Mulleavy for Rodarte won the big prize of the evening: Womenswear Designer of the Year. Their designs are so fascinating — each piece is like a work of art. Very exciting news for the two sisters…
The Swarovski award for emerging talent was bestowed upon Alexander Wang for Womenswear, Tim Hamilton for Menswear and Justin Giunta of Subversive Jewelry for Accessory Design.

Diane Kruger with Jason Wu
The evening’s fashion choices were a tad lackluster, but I did like Diane Kruger in Jason Wu. As I noted in my 2009 Costume Institute Gala review, she always brings her A-game to red carpet events. The Ralph Lauren family, of my Inherited Beauty Chic List, looked amazing as always. Other notables include model Hana Soukupova and actress Lake Bell, both in some very sexy designs.
