Since the announcement was made on Thursday, there has been much discussion over Christian Lacroix filing for bankruptcy. “The French couturier whose artistic and exuberant pouf dresses propelled him to fame in the 1980s became the latest victim of the global financial crisis…” wrote Suzy Menkes in The New York Times. The company submitted a petition for protection from creditors in a Paris court. Whether it will be restructured or liquidated has yet to be determined.

With summer upon us, it’s a good time for new sunglasses or even new eyeglasses that coincide with the season change. So I met with Felice at her office, located not too far from me on the Upper East Side.
Charlotte Gainsbourg of my Inherited Beauty Chic List has won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival. She received the honor for her role in Lars von Trier’s controversial film Antichrist. Despite the dark nature of her work in this film, she accepted the prize looking beautiful as always.
