Last week I was thrilled to discover that the very chic Carla Bruni-Sarkozy opted for an Alexis Mabille dress to host a Gala Dinner in honour of the Casip-Cojasor Foundation.  I’ve been a big advocate of the talented designer, having attended his shows in Paris for the past few years.  I hope that Carla will continue to support this amazing label.  She looked wonderful.

The House of Vionnet is Acquired

012The House of Vionnet has been acquired by Italian fashion executive Matteo Marzotto. The Business of Fashion has an insightful interview with former CEO Arnaud de Lummen with details of both the acquisition and the creative direction.  The Luxe Chronicles has coverage and some nice archival photos of the label, as well.

New York Fashion Week Fall 2009: Ralph Lauren

While I wouldn’t consider my personal style reflective of the typical Ralph Lauren woman, I do like to see what Mr. Lauren shows.  He is a true craftsman.  On Friday, he presented another beautiful and safe collection.  The event was held downtown at Skylight Studios — it was very nicely decorated and definitely the most elegant space among all of the New York Fashion Week venues.
