Thursday was my last day of Paris Haute Couture January 2008, and while I had attended the headline shows, I was very eager to catch the up-and-coming designers as well. Both Alexis Mabille and Stéphane Rolland are relatively new to the world of Haute Couture, and even though I have followed their careers for many years, I am always excited to see how much they have grown since the season before. On day three of Paris Haute Couture fashion week, I attended the Elie Saab Haute Couture show, which was held at the Hotel Intercontinental Paris Le Grand. John Galliano takes a bow

The first day of fashion week in Paris is always a combination of excitement, craziness, and anticipation. Paris Haute Couture is revered for its prestige and indulgent expression, expressed through the craftsmanship of luxury design houses. Of the many exclusive ateliers in Paris, it was with great pleasure that I began my busy week with Dior’s show at the Polo de Paris in the Bois de Boulogne, followed by an evening exhibit of Armani Privé at Le Palais de Chaillot in Trocadéro.
