From Paris to Istanbul

Quick culture change – after Paris I made my way for a quick but exciting trip to Istanbul with my daughter. I explored the frenetic city with it’s wide array of wealth, culture, history and nightlife.  Since we were short on time, I wanted to concentrate only on the chicest and most famous sites, so that I could pack it all in and really feel like I understood a piece of Turkish history. The Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sofia, Hippodrome, and of course, no trip would be complete without shopping at the Grand Bazaar and the Spice Market.

Saint-Tropez, Summer 2007

Chateaux de la Messadiere in St. Tropez

My favorite part of the summer is my holiday at the Château de la Messardière in St. Tropez.  I always look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new people. The Château is the best place to stay because it’s quiet. St. Tropez can get a bit wild, so if you want to be with the crowd, there is a navette shuttle service from the hotel that will take you into town for nightlife and shopping.  The concierges, Joel and Frank, are the best. They cater to every need and can get you into those hot spots with tough reservations.
