Wednesday, February 7, 2007 – Chopard hosted a cocktail at their Madison Avenue boutique. They got a great crowd – most notably their new “face” for Chopard. Anna Nebtrebko. The space was warm with dark wood and masses of red roses – a beautiful setting for the jewels. In the back, space was tight as everyone was gathering around the safe to see who would win a piece of jewelry. In the fall Chopard will be opening a huge new store down the street -
Can’t wait for that opening –

Susan and Anna Nebtrebko
Afterwards Michele Gerber Klein and I went to La Goulue for dinner – that was better than any of the fashion shows I have seen thus far this week. It was one of those incredible New York evenings with Becca Cason Thrash holding court in the corner table with CeCe Kisselstein Cord, Suzy Menkes was at the table behind me and Rod Stewart was at another table with his entourage of young hipsters in rhinestone tiaras and white mink. Rod doesn’t age — what’s his secret?

Thursday, February 8, 2007 – The Betsey Johnson show was fun – a bit more subdued than her previous collections. But sitting at the tea table with Robert Verdi and Fran Drescher made the show even more entertaining. It was the first time I had met Fran. I gave her my book, which she loved –

Roger Vivier – has finally arrived in New York last night there was a private viewing of the boutique. It is in an old town house – completely renovated. It reminds me of the Paris store – very soft, luxurious and comfortable. It’s such a nice way to shop. Diego delle Valle was a charming host as was Bruno Frissoni. It was nice to see Ines de la Fressange again (one of the women in my book). She was the quintessential hostess – helping Gwyneth Paltrow and Pamela Fiori of Town and Country magazine, make their selections.

Friday, February 9, 2007 – Tonight is Ralph Rucci – He is my favorite and I am really looking forward to his show.
Fashion week saves the best for last. So breathtaking I realize why I don’t bother with the others. Ralph’s show took me away. Ralph only uses the best fabrics mixing textures of cashmeres, furs, and silks of the highest quality. You can’t help but feel beautiful in his clothes. Ralph also brings in a beautiful crowd. The audience was filled with well-dressed women, some wear Ralph’s clothes and they were dressed last night to show off his incredible talent. Some of the people in the audience were Deeda Blair, Tatiana Sorroko, Liz Peek, Valerie Steele, Sheryl Schwartz, and Michele Gerber Klein. When Ralph took his bow at the end – the crowd roared with applause and a standing ovation. I waited on line at the end to congratulate Ralph, as did many – he admired my sable fur coat – a great compliment coming from Ralph.
It was a wonderful way to end Fashion Week.
